ctenapoma and crayfish?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
GUPPIES are an excellent food for both of those mentioned. hopefully the crayfish doesn't kill the ctenapoma as well

I would just be hesistant to add crayfish because they will kill the ctenopoma if they can get their hands (claws?) on them

Yup,in that tank the crayfish is the top of the foodchain. It will probably take out the ctenopoma at night.

I've got 7 Crays in 5 tanks ranging from 20 Long to 45 g. The tanks 'belong' to the Crays but I've got fish in there, too-Blue Gouramis, Tiger Barbs, Tetras, Hatchets, Dwarf Gouramis, Platys...to name a few. I've kept them this way for the 6-7 months I've owned Crays and (knock on wood) have never lost a fish to a Cray. The Crays are all different species. If the Bushfish or Guppies are favorites of yours, I wouldn't risk it on the off-chance the Cray would eat them though.

Right after I posted I decided against it just based on the fact I like the way the tank is set up and the cray likes to ruin everything I try to set up in his/her tank, sob. But the tank hes in now, this is crazy I know, is where I keep ghost shrimp and breed feeder guppies to feed to the bushfish. ive seen ghost shrimp on top of him. I read they were aggressive but mine is mellow. I saw him trying to get a couple rosey reds but he did not put in much effort. wouldnt want to risk the bushfish either, love that little guy.

it probably does try to catch the smaller animals, taking into consideration that it might not be that easy for it to do
