ok, 1st where the parents wild caught fish, and 2nd these fish can not be keep for the most part as a pair, they are best keep with acouple females and a single male, if you do have just a pair it is a good idea too have other fish in there to take away some of the aggression the male will have for the female, most times he will kill her her instead of breeding with her, most people who breed them will actually use a tank divider, until they are sure of the males intent to mate and not kill, i my self am using calvus in the tank with mine they are great because of there irom like scales that can easily take the abuse from the horei, as for bloat, look for him to have white poop,or feces, and to stay away from fish for the most part, but still will chase them until the bloat gets real bad then he will just chill near the top of the tank then die, remember not too feed these guys much, i hoped this helped some.
