Alright, I saw one of these at my lfs for 9 bucks, about an inch long. Looked up as much info as I could on them but info is scarce. I have a 20 gallon tank cycling right now, and I would love to buy one, but like I said info is scarce and in turn I know nothing of their aggression. I wanted about 10 neon tetras in the tank, and seeing how the Ansorgii only hits about 2.5 inches I don't see an issue doing so, but I just wanted to see if anyone know anything about these guys and if the tetras would be alright with one.

Probably fine with the neons for a while at least, similar requirements in water conditions. If they are anything like leopard ctenopoma, a specimen over 2 inches might gobble up the neons, but as far as I can tell they don't have huge extendable mouths like the leopards. I think it would be fine, and neons are much easier to replace than c. Ansorgii are to find anyway

Thanks for your reply! I figured they would be alright together but still im not positive. I guess the only thing I can really do is try it. From everything I've read it seems they are a sort of rare find anyway, so I can't pass up buying him. Today my tank is finally done cycling, all the levels are great and water is a cool 76 degrees. Put a bunch of plants in yesterday so he'll have some good hiding spots. Also added some driftwood.
