I don't Know
I just picked up about a 2.5in 3in Ctenopoma yesterday. I know it is a bit early for feeding but what do you recomend feeding it? I threw in some large freezdried krill tails but he ate it but spit it out and my gobie ate it. The guy at my lfs told me pellets but I'm not so sure about that. And it also seems whenever I have the lights on he is cruising the glass or pacing the back wall. I have alot of plants in there and have done my best giving him hiding places. On my next trip to the lfs I think I my pick up a rock or 2 and lean it on the glass or something so he can hide.

Try feeding bloodworms, mine gorges him self on them. Also try getting him on a good pellet. As for hiding places add some driftwood and some rock structures.

+1...if he is spitting it up, he wants it but it is too big. Try chopping the krill up and soaking it in tank water.

The 1mm pellets...drop them right in front of him so he has a chance to pick them off while they are floating. Once he learns, he will chase them to the bottom.

I would try to add some hardy floating plants or stem plants...these guys really need a dense little thicket to sit in.

Cool guys thanks, I am going to my lfs to pick up a butterfly and gsp next week, he will be ok for a week I think. I will get pics of the tank once he is settled in.

ive gots one and he didnt eat for about a week than he started looking for food and he eats pellets now =D

Horray! He ate some pellets and mini krill last night. I moved a few things and made a cave for him but my knight goby seems to like the cave too. Seems like I am going to have to make another one for them.

Hmm, he has been going at the pellets and eating them (the 1mm NLS pellets) but he keeps spitting bits of them up. If he is 3 inches I wouldn't think he would have a swallowing problem. So far I have only seen him keep 1 down, and that took him a few minutes to get it down.
Also I have noticed he doesn't seem to like staying in one place, he likes moving around in the plants and visiting the knight goby. But after doing that for awhile I guess he must just get b ored and he starts surfing the glass. So does this mean he needs more in there for him to check out/live in?
