Got up this morning and noticed that now my Cuban and ZZ Dragon are starting to dig a pit and are now driving off the other fish from that area. Looks like the ZZ decided that my Texas Hybrid wasn't worthy of her loving ... lol. Now I'm wondering is it possible for a Cuban and a ZZ to mate and if so has anyone seen the offspring?

yah bro...If you look sometimes at those super double row flowers on some fish I wonder it this it from this kind of cross...I dug up the pic I found on a site with zero english and alot of cubans posted along with flowerhorns... it only makes sense there in the genetic make up, how else are there so many black based fh out there... just my 2 sense on this guess.

Huh?

I have also read perusing through Cantonese and Vietnamese sites that Cubans were used in some of the earlier stages of King kamfas and the likes.
I always took that with a grain of salt because Cubans are SUCH slow growers and dont readily breed. The double row on some fish is almost an uncanny pattern to that of a Cuban. So I believe it.

Wow, fishflipper I really like that FH. That would be cool if they bred.

Slower growth and development is one of the traits of the Kamfa. I think there is some truth to cubans being somewhere in the mix. Just my two pennies.
