I know they are an invasive species and I have seen them in pet stores and all around the gardens. I found someone who was letting go of a male Cuban and rather than letting the guy let him go I offered to take the poor thing off his hands. So I have a male Cuban in a 20 gal with some clean sand mixed with potting soil (I was growing grass in it for a project) and a little branch for him to lay on. All that I really know about these lil buggers is that they are territorial and not to keep multiple ones in one tank.

Help?

Thank you for your time.

I've thought about catching some. Theres so much variety in those little guys. I'd love to catch one of the big males with the crest running down there back.
I don't know a whole lot more than you do but I can tell you they love earthworms. I spent an hour outside work one day spraying a leaf pile with a hose to bring the worms out and watch the anoles drop out of the tree and snag them.

Yeah they are really cool this thursday my mom is going to the pet store and I'll pick up so stuff for him and thanks for the food idea. I'll post I pic of him he's big (for an anole) and very cocky. Pretty bland coloring though, but I think it'll be a fun adventure keeping him.

We had a big Cuban knight anole at my work for a while and he was a big sweetheart, he'd let you pick him up and just hang out but he'd turn black when we misted him.

Btw I am talking about the Brown Cuban Anole. Yeah a Cuban Knight would be awesome.

You mean the small brown anole not the big cuban anole that will BITE hard if caught :WHOA:?

If it's the little brown anole they are easy . As you know mist daily as they wont drink from a water bowl and give several branches with basking sight.

Green plants are great but if you look outside they do like reg branches among any climbing structure.

I KNOW from the one's in my yard that they pair up for life and though they only breed during season the male accepts the same female in area all yr long .

The female will not tolerate other females during breeding season in her area but other than that seems to ignore them when they pass by. It's baby hatching season now as have seen several in last week coming out of my stackhorns..

Green anole females are way more tolerant. Underrated lizards that will get to know you. I have fed wild backyard anoles who recognize me wax worms.

They seem to prefer it hotter than green anoles as will bask when green anoles seek shade. Catch him a female since so many outside any way. I don't think they are solitary at all once the big male establishes a territory.. The younger submales are solitary.

sorry, my bad

Cool and yes I am talking about the small one lol, no worries. I've been catching flies and removing their wings for the anole he seems to be stalking them but very slowly lol. He's like a mini dragon he's so cool and I'll snag a female for him, who knows maybe they will breed.
