I love my Cuban already n hes only 1 inch, he loves to eat, is always moving/begging for food. ive never seen a spunkier fish at his size its pretty cool , these little guys wer tenacious at my lfs fighting and liplocking chaseing and flaring.i wud just like to know how the growth rate is for a Cuban, rite now hes in a 20 gal so im sure he'll be good for a wile until hes around 5inches

Because it's alone in a 20gal, it should grow fairly quickly, and if it's male it may grow faster.
And if you were to do a 50% water change every other day or so, it would really grow fast.
When I had hundreds of fry, they grew slow. The more I removed, the faster the others grew. I don't know if it was the availability of food, or water parameters being better with less fish in the tank, or both.

hmm interesting, im kinda scared to do more than 30 oercent wc cuz hes small ya know I don't wanna hurt him in anyway

I 2nd what Duanes said. Mine grew fast when he was alone but when he got put into my bigger tank, his growth slowed dramatically. Not sure if its because of not being the alpha fish or what but he's slowed on growth despite a good diet, and 50-75% weekly water changes.

I do every other day, 30% water changes on all my tanks, whether they contain adults or fry. As long as chlorine is neutralized and temp of new water is close to the tank water, there should not be a problem.
