I just got word that a LFS is getting a shippment of Cuban cichlids next week. They are very rare here in toronto so I will definitly be getting some.

I know they look really nice. Any one have experience with them?????

I have a friend with one. They've got a similiar temperment as my Haitiensis. Varies from fish to fish, as with all species. All in all they've got a rep for being agressive

I have had them in the past & I have one 3" growout now.
Comparing them to a Hatiensis/Odo/Black Nasty is good.
IME- they are more fragile when young. They last time I kept them with a male Trimac & they were all murdered.
Good water quality is a must IMO & I recommend a species tank.

I have one now in my 135 and he runs the tank. I have an Oscar and a Flowerhorn twice his size that he punks on the daily.

Guess I'll be the detractor. I had one at about three inches who didn't hold up well against slightly larger new worlds. Maybe he just wasn't big enough.

i have two 2" inches long ,one is darker then other which i think is the and the a female.i have flowerhorn babies twice their size about fifthteen and the black cuban chases all of them.i put him in with my felmale texas flowerhorn hybrid and he try to spwan with her .i put him with felmale flowerhorn same thing the two female fish are about 6 inches
he up their butt
