Where the Parachromis roam...
I have a set of 4 they are all about 2-3 inches,2 of them are very dark almost black and very aggressive towards the other 2 who are light colored and resemble Managuense. My question is could the darker 2 be males and the others female??Also do these fish grow the "Cichlid Hump" on thier forehead like other cichlids fully grown??:headbang2

Post pics. the females should be the darker ones

on the last 2 pics the one under the bubble wand looks female the others look to be males. If you have 2 that are more aggressive they are most likely pairing off, Watch the aggression they will kill the others when they get ready to spawn. No nuchal hump on cubans

Thanks albertjr,do you think these guys are aggressive enough to live with a small Dovii??This guys are only 2-3 inches arnt they too small to breed??

I wouldn't put them with dovii. they start breeding at about 3".I have 2 breeding pair, about a month after the females bottom and dorsal fin turned black they started breeding. I had to put each pair in their own tank because they were beating the crap out of the other cubans. Also the first 2 batches of fry were eaten by the parents I think it was because they were having so much trouble defending them so they just ate them.Since I put them in their own tanks they have been taking great care of the fry.As soon as they Lay eggs I would take all the other fish out.

These are really cool fish, how big do they get???
