Males get 10-12" and females a little smaller nice colors can be aggressive. If you do a single Cuban you need at least a 75 gallon with other fish I would say nothing less then a 125 gallon. Egg layers. They need a temp around 80 degrees and ph around 7.4.
id say 78-84 degrees and ph up to 8.0 is not a problem. ive owned 2 sepperate breeding pairs and many many growouts. and heck yes there colors are awsome and patterns are amazing.
females are more torpedo shaped and their dorsal has solid dark color, like the one on the right.
Best way to get a compatible pair, is to get 6-10 youngsters, grow them out in a large tank, and let them pair up naturally.
The first time I got 4, and the dominant male ate the other 3.
