Cuban Gar - Availability?

When was the last time someone saw Cuban Gars available in the states? Is attempting to find one to buy a worthless effort? From what I have read they are endangered.

i know there may be some available soon
but they will be in canada..... but that doesnt mean anything

Some guy down the street has a few of them that I believe he is going to sell to a LFS.

best bet is to try vendors in japan, taiwan or sgp. otherwise see if h20 aquatics can get any....don't hold your breath though
