...you can probably guess who wins out :)

just to demonstrate that these guys will take FD krill (seems like once they are separated from the pack they are a bit hesitant, but this should hopefully give hope :)), i shot some video tonight of the typical feeding frenzy with these fish.

they go after NLS floating pellets with a little less zest, but they still take those down too (i don't combine them as i like to keep them eating the pellets, and am only offering krill infrequently from this point onward).

BONUS at the end of the video as there is a pan over to the big gar tank where i had just thrown in some massivore pellets (helps keep the Croc II under control these days) and the AUL is out as well. enjoy--

thanks! tank is a 75g, 48" x 18" x 18" (or something along those lines of height) - basically bought it (used) and set it up the same day as i needed to move the study 1 CBGs from the 50g breeder to make room for the study "3" group.
tank has been in a slight state of flux as 4 gars shipped over the past two days and i just moved two "larger" study 2 fish in tonight (the other reason for the heavier krill feeding - to keep them pacified toward the newcomers).
LOTS of shuffling around with the later 2 groups, but this group has been in holding pattern for several weeks now. water changes are daily or every other day, substrate is aragonite sand--

nice vid! some time I think krill is kinda expensive because Albertsons stores around me sale raw shrimp for $4 a pound!

Awesome video. My gar used to love krill, but I haven't fed it in a while because it was just too expensive. Plus they've done quite well on the pellets and occasional shrimp/tilapia/feeders I give them, so I haven't felt it necessary to continue. I think I might start mixing it back into their diet though.

Nice Gars, Solomon :)

Guys,

Is there a significant difference (wrt nutrition) when it comes to freeze-dried Krill and sun-dried krill?

In my part of the world, sun-dried krill is super cheap.. (I also get fresh krill pretty cheap..)

Cheers,

I believe FD krill retains most of the nutrition.

Great video sol, wish I could have that many they look awesome.
