Hello. I received my 8-10” Cuban Gar on Wednesday. I still haven’t seen him eat. I have plenty of feeder guppies in the tank, and offer floating sticks and freeze dried shrimp. The similar sizes tropicals love them.
First off, levels are all good except oh was a little lower than has been. It was 6.6-.8 and is usually closer to 7.2-5.
All other levels are 0ppm
I put a clean piece of limestone in just now and did a 10% water change since my ph of tap is 7.8
Now testing closer to 7.0.
Temp was low. In the low 70’s and now is up to around 78 f. Unfortunately with the cool temps I can’t get it to warm more.
Any other suggestions?
The gar is not being bullied at all. Mostly just floats by itself around the pothos that I put in to keep no3 trace or less. No signs of anything else except a split tail fin that it came to me with.
