I'm looking to place a Rapps order for my new 450 gallon tank one it is set up and cycled. I already have decided to get some Dovii and Managuense. Should I get a pair of Cubans or Haitians to complete my order? Of course, they will all be little guys that will need to grow in to the tank. I will also add silver dollars for target fish.

Personally I like Haitians better, but I have had too many stints with bloat when Ive had them (they all died), so Id go with the cubans.

Heres a good thred on the Haitensis & bloat & feed related to it (I think its stress related from other fish, not dietary)

Plus with the Haits, youll need to keep the water around 86-88 degrees (ideally) and I dont know how that will affect the Dovii and Mang. The haits grow up on the shores where the water is shallow and stays very warm.

GOod luck. I just got a female cuban from jeff last saturday. BEAUTIFUL!! and not scared to defend her area against some fish 4x her size.

I agree with VRWC, while I love Haitiensis, I'd go with a pair of Cubans in that particular setup.

I would go with the Haitiensis! Way better looking than the cubans.
