Hi guys ,I have a 125 g 72 x18 with a pair of spawning cubans approx 5'' plus 6 sd.Any suggestions as to what else I could add,another ca ,catfish,maybe?.Thanks.
It's hard to say what will or will not work.I currently Have a spawning pair in a 135 which has the same footprint as yours and have a rhino pleco, barred midas, rtm, festae and a couple others but Your Cubans may or may not allow introduction of new fish.Any similar sized Ca is worth a try just have a back up plan.As far as catfish synodontis is your best bet.
Hey Ray. Are you trying to have the tank centered around your cubans or do you want more of a mixed community setting? You could try a group of cryptoheros, add some non- cichlid dithers, or go for another pair of something. I've had as many as 4 spawning pairs of centrals housed in a six foot tank with 3 of them spawning simultaneously. Not what I'd recommend necessarily, but it can work.
Thanks Fishluvr12,Ed, I pretty much want the tank to be centered around the cubans, but I'm itchin' to add something, but not a community set up,gonna look into the cryptoheros.BTW cubans are doing great.
