When you say Cuban, I assume you are talking about Nandopsis tetracanthus. There are two described species in Cuba.
They are fairly aggressive toward their own species, but I didn't have problems keeping them with other Central American types. I even had them with Lake Victoria Haps when they were small. When keeping a group of these fish, attention has to be paid to aggression among the Cubans themselves. I lost all but one due to this.
