Hi, I'm new here but a long time lurker, this question has been killing me for a while, and I can't find a single person who has done it or tried to.. but, Has anyone done this with success or even failure? I want to do a plywood bottom tank, and use two breeder tanks front and back glass to create a 36x36x18" tank. Is this possible? I know it comes out to a theoretical 101gallon tank but, I expect it to be more like 85 gallons between water height loss.. I would build it with a rim and an "x" brace for support.
If I can get reasonable evidence that it is, in fact, possible I will try it. 40b tanks pop up used really cheap all the time on Craigslist here in Vegas.

Why not just go with the 93 cube? Another option is to order the glass and make the tank yourself. I'd be worried about such a short tank being able to stang up to the pressure without bowing a lot.

The glass measures out to 1/4inch, thickness and is not tempered. The reason I ask this is because of three reasons.

First, it would cost me roughly 80$ to build this tank (not including the stand) and I could drill it for overflows and such.

Second, I keep 3 red belly pacu, which means I'll need a way bigger tank within a year Max.

So in closing, if I build a 36" cube it will be temporary or I will keep my clown loaches and silver dollars in it down the road.

I don't want to pay 500$ for a 93cube but, they are good looking tanks!

My pacu are currently about 5" long and in a 40 breeder tank and seem happy and healthy now, I'm moving in 8months and when my big tank gets built or bought, I fear it won't be able to make it through the hall way in my current house:/
