rhode island of course
hi, i was wondering if anyone had any info on the freshwater barracuda, it is on the list at my work and i ordered one, also do they go to salt or stay fresh any info and pics appreciated.....

They like a moderately planted fairly large tank at least 18" wide, keep under standard freshwater tropical conditions, they tend to be a bit spooky with out plants to lurk under. They are great predators and often refuse pellets but will take gut loaded crickets, thumb trimmed small crayfish, live shrimp, frogs, and smaller fish (preferably not more than one third their size), they are not brawlers and can be easily damaged by aggressive, full bodied cichlids like doviis. They do well with non aggressive fish that are to big to eat, they keep quite well in small groups like 3-5 of them. They are not related to true barracuda but are actually characidae like tetras, the barracuda thing is just a marketing gimmick.

i gots one, unless you are talking about hujeta gars cuz they are sometimes called cudas
