I've found a source of tank cultured Tubifex worms. I was thinking about getting a culture and dumping them in my 75.

Would they live in the substrate and breed? If could get a good colony of Tubifex going in the tank it would be an always there snack food source for the fish.

What do you all think?

No aack! dont do it! that will foul your tank for sure turn it into a sewer.
Tubifex are GREAT food perfect for conditioning all smaller carnivores to breed but they are dirty!I wish I had a local source to get some on a regular basis but you dont want a lot of them loose in your tank.

These aren't collected from a sewer or anything, they are tank cultured worms. Wouldn't they help to eat the crud in the sand substrate? Do you think they would just die and foul up my tank that way? What makes them dirty?

Shoot, and here I thought I had a great idea!
