Good Morning everyone, my flowerhorn has successfully recovered from Hexamita. The exact cause was unknown as I am on top water changes and filter maintainance. The medicine that worked for me was Seachem Metroplex, following the exact directions on the box for adding the medicine directly to water column. It took 4 weeks and he is 100% back to normal doing his playful swimming loops when he sees me and eats fine. He has been cured now for four weeks. My question is: will he ever get back his color that he lost from Hexamita?

Brilliant news, looks stunning. Not sure about the colour loss but I would have thought it would come back just fine in a matter of time.
I really like the Seachem stuff but you cant get Metroplex in the UK as well as a couple of others, so annoying.

Well done!

The picture is not high quality, but there are some signs that fading is in progress.

The fading is done, he is cured of hexamita. My question is will he ever get the color he lost while he was sick?

I was referring to the fading process not associated with hexamita disease. It is not reversible. https://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/threads/faders-explained.396860/

Thanks for your response, I am not sure of this is the case though. Once he had hexamita he turned almost all white and it was caused by the disease. I originally purchased him as a Red Dragon Flowerhorn and he showed no signs of color loss until the Hex effected him. Now that he is better I wanted to know if anyone else succesfully treated Hex and if their FH colors returned. If fading is the case does the FH get new color or stay pale?

Good Afternoon everyone after 3 months my flowerhorn seems to still be fading but is coming along nice. Here is a relatively clear pic. This fading involved all the black turning to white. Excellent none the less. I will continue to observe the changesVideoCapture_20211229-000851.jpg
