As the title states, I have fresh harvested manzanita and I am curious of how I should go about making it safe for my tanks. I would bake these pieces but they are much too large to fit in the oven. So my main question is, do you think I could get away with just soaking the wood in boiling water? Does it need to be dried completely before the boiling process? Thanks all. :D

What ive come to learn is that you need to bake it at 200 degrees for roughly 4-6 hours and then soak it if it floats. Dont sand anything down or it will turn your waters brown.
