i have an amazing looking geophagus but the only thin that is keeping it from reaching its full potential is its ripped tail fin and torn streamers. my question to you is what can i do to fix that problem?

How did it occur?
For now, I suggest isolating it, bumping up the temperature a bit, and treating it with Melafix.

well the previous owner had it with another geo of the same breed, but they started to show aggression and his geo was definitaly show quality and he didn't want this one to damage the other one so he sold it to me, when i got it the fins were semi-torn up. its odd to say that the geo is actually the most aggressive fish in my tank and he is housed with a jd and an oscar! he seems to slowly heal, but not very much. for example his left streamer is about 6" long, and when i got him he didn't have a right streamer, but now its closing in on an inch!
cool, thank you alot, the geo has show quality potential as i said, the streamers are suppose to be 6-7" long but one was torn of by the dominant geo from the previous tank
