I broke the top part of my sump. To fix it I got a piece of glass that is 6 x 12 inches and put silicone on the entire glass and covered the broken part. How long will it take for the silcone to cure?

I sealed a 30 gallon made sure vinegar smell was not present and it was cured in a week humidity will play a factor in curing time.

It don't recall the cure time but it should be stated on the side of the tube.

Also,if you did the repair while the sump was in place and still in use then the moisture in that area might affect the cure time.

1) depends on if it's 100% silicone. Many things say silicone but are not 100% and under certain conditions will never cure

2) even 100% silicone might never cure if it's expired

3) unexpired 100% silicone comes in many varieties. Some can take more than a week depending on temperature, humidity, application thickness, etc.

If it's ge silicone 1 then generally with a normal bead it takes 24-48 hours to become solid. Min of 24 hours.

The more you put on/thicker applied, the longer it will take. As other have said, wait for the vinegar smell to go away, that's when it's fully cured.
