I was in the buy and sell forum and was wondering why the following thread got closed I was interested in a rare aro myself not sure what kind but something different than may silver but after i saw this closed i wondered why.......are they illegal in certain states......now for the link

"Rare" Asian Arowanas are a protected species under CITES and are illegal in the United States - at least for the common fishkeeper.
 
Yep, it's against the site's policy to sell illegal fish, so asian aro ads, snakehead ads, etc. will be closed.
 
It depends on your definition of "rare" Don't know if he meant an Asian Aro or he might be asking about something other than a Silver or Jardini. Black Aros are far and few to come by now a days (in my area anyways) and Leitharti are Aros I'm not sure if they're hard to come by or illegal now.
 
True. He didnt really specify whether or not it was an Asian he was looking for. For all we know it could have been something that IS legal. He should have been more specific i guess.
 
yep, a silver snow is very rare..... he should have been more specific. but most of the really rare are illegals, black asians, green snakeskins, platinums, and kings, all asians and illegal
 
it's pretty obvious...
