I just want to know what the most popular cichla is out there. Within that question assume its your money you are spending to put the fish in your tank.

It seems like there is a lot more orino traffic lately and with the low price tag for those fellas there will be more and more people buying them.

So my vote is orino.

I have 4 monos but I haven't seen any other species for sale yet where I am, it would be nice to mix species and get watever u can get ur hands on and that's suitable to your tank

Well ..to answer your question I think the orinos are the most popular cichla although the kelberi are very hot right now.If I had more money to spend as you state,it would be on a bigger tank to house more kelberi(my personal favorite).I'd try to have all of the variants that are availible.

As do I krichardson, Bahia's are hot right now. But, I want/wanted Rapps 1,2,3,4 batches, those are the harder ones to get. Thus making them popular to me. Yes, Orino's are out there now, easier to get...probably the easiest to get now, even easier then Peruvian Mono's. I guess the "Popular" cichla is the one readily available.

I have yet to see a Quality cichla species that I don't like ... but with that said if I had to pick one species I would Pick Rio Meta Orino's

My first kelberi came from Rapps about two or three years ago and I've no idea which batch that was.It was a looker though. There seems to be more orino related threads than those for other cichla which leads me to think that they hold the top spot.
