Hi All, just wanted to ask a question about curl. Ive come to my parents to pick up the two histix i have there (moved house recently) . I came to catch one in the cullender , bagged him up and realised that the bag was leaking (about 5 minutes in total) he was submerged at all times but now hes back in the tank (i stupidly didnt have any spare bags) hes not moving, breathing heavily (not a good sign) and the back of his fins are elevated. Has anyone seen this before and is this the dreaded death curl? (There is no curl as such and he can and does flatten them)
Given i did the same to my other two the other week and they were (and are) fine is this temporary stress and is there anything i can do to alleviate? (BTW the other ray is fine, feeding and its usual active demanding self) nitrates etc are within tollerences less than 20 and zero on all other nitrogenous compounds (plus there's a poly filter in there controlling any extra stress related hormones being released).
Id take a photo but ive turned all lights off and dont want any futher flashing!

overreacting. he's fine. if he can lower the disc down again, he's fine. curl involves the inability to lower the disc, like a tensed muscle refusing to relax and straighten out. once you see real death curl, you'll understand. i used to be the same way till i saw the real deal.

Yah, might even just be some current pushing his disk up and your only noticing it now because of the situation. Keeping him stress free is a good idea until he begins acting normally again

well looks like you two are right. i had to go home to feed my other rays but as i left he started moving and my parents rang to tell me hes fine and eating....there was definate stress though so i'll have to be extra careful when trying to move him next week.

Thanks for the replies and i'll try to post pics of the two at home this week
