current snakehead impact in the Potomac

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
It also says that they will not be sure of the impact for many years. What I say we do though is just raise a bunch of muskie fry one smaller snakeheads as food and then release the Muskies that think Snakeheads are food:popcorn:  . Muskie would be more fun to catch anyways:headbang2

btw I am kidding about teaching Muskie to eat them and blah blah blah

We had it in the uk with the Zander and signal Cray fish the problem is when a species such as this get established its niy on imposable to get rid of them when they are in there new habitat. But where there is large number of signal crays and Zander the small fish have decrease but the large fish have got bigger. Chub are getting huge because they are eating the crays when they shed. A find the Zander who hunt in packs have been wiping out all the small pray fish. He problem being you never know how bad it is till it’s too late. Our River are over run with signal crays now and they carry a disease that has no ill effect on them but wipes out our indigenous fish. I love snakeheads but you will never know how bad things are until it’s too late.

This all goes back too the fact you should never release a fish into a body of water it didn't come from, and never release any captive fish. Whether or not they are having serious impact on local fisheries, this changes the ecosystem for good.
