It depends on the type of filtration you have. For a sump filter aim for a 3-5x turn over rate as minimumm. For a canister aim for 6-8x turn over as min. and for hang on the back filters aim for 8-10 as a minimum turn over. Turn over rate is how many times per hour your filters can completely filter your tanks volume. Or turn it over. these figures are minimum guide lines for all aquariums. If your stock like current I personally would double the turn over rate. My fish like current as well and I have a sump filter set up at a 12x turn over rate and a tank with HOB filters running a 35x turn over.
my tank is 3 meters and 1 meter deep en 1 high and the pump does 4000l an hour .
i wanted to put a streamer with 6000l an hour in the for some extra current . wil that be eneaugh ?
wel i bought 2 3000l pumps with a sponge ( so the water is alway's clear of litle stuf )
il post a vid when i get them , that wil be the end of next week i think . greetings.
