i saw a thread on how somebody made a custom enclosure for there herps.can someone give me help on how to make one for my mangrove.i want to make a stand and all.it would be nice to have a metal mesh top and a plexiglass side and a wood frame.

I know that these are for tree monitors but i dont think it will take that much tweaking to get the right set up for your mangrove. A lot of the ideas should be encoorporated into your cage anyway and will give you some good ideas.

Well the stand is entirely up to you. You may make it as simple or complex as you wish. As for the cage part, if its going to be for a mangrove, the cage might be to large for a stand. You can have the sides made up of wood and the front can be plexi glass as I show in my thread. Real easy all of it, just need to sit down with a pen, paper and calculator and think about it.

Look for melamine boards, they do well with humidity and cheap as well. Now for an enclosure, they say as a general rule of thumb:
Length: 2x or 3x the length of the lizard
Width/Depth: 1x or 1.5x of the length of the lizard or more
Arboreal Height: 1.5-2x the length of the lizard
So the best size for your lizard which get to to be 4 or sometimes 5 feet... you are looking at 8 feet long-12 feet long, 4ft-6ft wide and 6-8 feet tall.
8 feet by 4 feet by 6 feet doesn't sound that bad to me. Of course, the more space you can give, the better. Who know, it can be a father-son or grandfather-grandson project!?

I would go 8long x 4wide by ?? tall. Assemble it in the room and see if there's a way you can build it will screws and perhaps have it come apart easier if you need to move later.
