Hi guys, I am currently building an aquarium 5' x 3' x 2'. I was just wondering if this was big enough to house a pair of motoros. Thanks

Will work for a very long time.. can you do 8x3x2'?? Sometimes those Mama Motoros can get huge!!

sweet, i did alot of research figuring this good size surface area would be enough. I would love to do the 8 footer but the fishroom cant handle that lol. I will have pics soon. Just a couple more supports and some wood finish and it will be done. Thanks for the help

I definitely think you should go for at least 6' x 3'....., and that is even pushing it....

You dont want to hassle with a small tank, its not worth it.....

Wait if this is an issue....., you will have a way better ray keeping experience if you just wait for a little bit larger tank...., just my 2cents.., from my experience.....

Just keep in mind that the females (and males) can easily get 24" in a few years, with tail they are nearly 3' in total length.. you might have to upgrade !!

agreed with miles.... a pair of motoros would be better in 8'x4'x2' but that will make a nice grow out.... ponds are usually the best way to go with rays so much cheaper to build a large pond than it is a tank....

I agree with nic with going with a pond thats what im doing my self. But every time i look at wat size tank it seems to always get bigger LOL but ponds=cheeper

I forgot to mention its really not a tank more like a pond. I think its more price efficient and easy. So worse case scenario when these guys take off in size I will build another one. Here is a pic of my project so far. Still have to border the bottom and the top of the pond with a 4x4 frame for support. Almost there though.

Well if you are building a tank out of plywood...., then I would definitley go bigger..... if you think about it...., why cut a 4'-8' piece of ply-wood if you dont have too..... 4' x 8' would be better and probably easier and just a tiny bit more expensive...., just my 2cents.... Good Luck....
