in a few months im having a 96x24x30 tank made and was wondering what filters everyone recomends and how much they cost would be helpful too.its gonna house large oddballs like rays etc.at the moment i have a 100g with 2 x eheim 2217s i was gonna transfer one of them to the new tank to get it started

I have a tank the same size as that, and the only way to go is a wet/dry IMO.
The casinster is a good idea to get it cycled, and you can leave it on there after that, but I would definately build a large wet/dry for that tank.

yes exactly thats what i would do

on a tank that size is it still possible not to have a wet and dry?
You could run a few canisters, and HOBs (if it was glass), but I wouldnt advise it.

Yeah, haveing a bunch of canister filters is a pain in the ass to clean. I have 3 on my ray tank, I hate having to tear them apart all of the time to clean them. I should have went with a wet dry, but at the time I didn't opt for one cuase of what I use to have in the tank.
