cut glass with scissors !

i think this link was in chat a few hours ago. anyway, i find it hard to belive that that would happen since he only held the lighter under the corner.
 
i think that was to prove that it wasnt plastic...

I think he meant that too, but just the corner was tested, not the whole piece of glass...
 
I can cut dinamite(sp?) with a knife, under water of course :)
 
Ummm....that wasn't cutting glass, it was fracturing it. :screwy:

The breaks were not straight. You will get the same results with "cutting" above water.

Wrong.
I have been working with glass since I was a kid, 21 yrs. total work time.
You try that above water, and you get a hand full of broken glass, first "cut".
That was what is referred to as "Double Strength", twice as thick as what is in a picture frame.

I see your point about the cut not being very straight, but it was due to the length of the sissors, not the method. If his sissors were about a foot long, where he could have made one cut through the glass, it would be straight.
