Cut off thumb-will it grow back??

The first thing that comes to mind when I talk about this is DEE-DE DE!

I will start at the begging:
My parents told be to throw away the fallen tree branches in the yard to get ready for my brothers graduation party tommorow. they were to large to fit in the garbage cans, so i got the hedge clippers. A few minutes later, u get the picture. My thumb is not competely cut off though. Only about 1.5-2CM down cut clear to the middle on one side, so, the part is still patially attached, Iguess. I have be bandeging it every comple hours, soaking it in peroxide for a few minutes between every time i change the bandade. I don't think it hit the bone. will that part of my thumb grow back?

I would say quit playing on the computer and go to the hospital, but thats just me.

just skin? or is it like a chunk missing? If its a missing section it wont grow back. It sounds like you shouldve gone to the hospital

ahhaha, dude, same thing happened to me only different circumstances. If it's just the thumb and it didn't get your bone then you should be fine. Mine started healing up pretty quickly and I didn't really do much to treat it so you should be fine.

er visits aren't necessary i guess, ahah, sorry to hear though.

Did you start bleeding pretty badly right away?

because i saw clear through to my bone and it didn't start bleeding for a while, twas weird

dude! I think you should carry yo azz to the hospital! Even if they couldnt do anything 4 ya, you can at least get some GOOD pain meds------but thats just me

LOL! It started bleeding immediatly.didn't hurt at all. I have a high tolerence for pain . For fun, my friends put a football helmet on my head and get a metal bat and just have fun!! Last year my appendex burst, and I* mangged to to fall out of of bed, and sence i couldn't even stand, or yell for help, i crawled all the way to the other side of my house to get to my parents room. I blacked out right outside it, and suddenly my show chow(VERY smart) got my parents and next thing i know, i am on a hospital bed. probibly would of died if it wasn't for the dog, but its a different story

It happens to my dad at his work every couple monthes at his work, so he knew what to do. I think the hospital would try to remove my thumbnail and stich it, wich would hurt like hell.

depends exactly what you done, but basically if youve just cut your sliced your thumb to the bone. either way i would recommend hospital, but guess depends how bad it is. When i sliced my finger to the bone, it didnt bleed for a bit and you could see straight to the bone when you bent it. then it just wouldnt stop bleeding for a couple of hours. just put it together with that sergical tape stuff and started healing in a day or two. however i got a very small lump just below the where the scar is where i think it bruised the bone and or did something to make cartiledge or something
