so I go visit my LFS & I see these cute baby red tiger shovelnose & red tail cat.
I like shovelnoses but don't think it wise to mix in with my discus juvie tank, right? it's only 72gal & temps at 87 & my pH is around 6.6.
also, I don't think I dare keep an RTC (it would be similar mistake when I bought a cute baby Pacu). I only have the discus 72g & angels 20g tank.
but since I recall a u-tube of someone video-ing a huge RTC eating another whole catfish, it turned me off. so this is a no brainer, just a spectator & will not rescue it from the LFS.
but the shovelnose? any thoughts? I didn't do any research - I figured it is not appropriate for me anyway.

thks all
btw - LFS started carrying juvie discus - separate filtration from rest of the store system, 3 tiny 2"-ers & a 2.5". red emperor, red turquoise, blue cobalt & a royal turquoise. the 3 tiny ones were emaciated so I suspect parasites. only $18 each but this is asking for trouble!
