I have a 55 gal aquarium not in use and does not hold water. I was wondering if the side class can be cut to shorten the height of the tank. I am planing on using the tank for my bearded dragon when she gets bigger.

why would you even bother cuting the glass if you are going to use it for a rept.

haha good question. just leave it man. i'm telling you right now it's not worth the effort. buy a 40 breeder from petco next time they have the dollar per gallon sale

Just wanted to have a shorter tank without buying anymore. I guess I can just use it like it is. Just an idea tho.

You would have to completely disassemble, have the pieces cut & then reassemble... Would be next to impossible to cut them in place...

Most 55G tanks sold in the U.S. have all panes tempered, so they cannot be cut, trimmed or drilled. Unless of course you have a very old 55G tank with thick glass.
