Ive seen people cut arowanas tails off so they can grow back to normal. Does it work for convicts? It was attacked by my male con and then my female in the other tank. Its been like that for months now. all it does is sit at the bottom all day and wait for flakes to drift to his corner of the tank. he cant swim well. think of nemo.
1. Does it hurt it
2. will it work
3. Should I?

If the rays of the fin are too badly damaged beyond repair, if it hasnt grown back yet, it most likely wont later. No need to cut it's tail.

yeah if it hasnt grown back yet... i wouldnt bank on it growing back if u cut the whole thing off... so i wouldn't do it

Your short-bodied convict has plenty of tail to get it going if it chose to. It just doesnt have the will power.
Cutting off the tail of a fish is a process used primarily in blood parrots to make the body shape appear as a heart.

The majority who get sucked into that sort of 'cute' thing and decide to buy it are kids and women. I say women because, more often then a bloke, they will find it cute. I've got pictures of BP's with flowers on them.
