there is stuff you can add to your water that will speed up the procces, its actually got the live bacteria in it. you add like 1 ts per 10 gals for 3 weeks but it shoulde be ready in 3 days.

. <----------- use them. they are your friends ;)

so if i put all those fish in and use nutria fin cycle it will be ready in 3 days n would it also make it faster if i used waste control?

You really need to learn the 'Nitrogen cycle' .

You didn't tell us what kind of filter your using and it's the filter that is actually 'cycled' and the tank is just the indicator/nutrient supply.

If possible put some of that gravel in the filter to help seed it quicker.

Just use the '2 large feeder goldfish' to start with and weekly add 2 more fish, while keeping tabs on the tanks chemistry.

Normally, cycling takes 4 weeks to 3 months depending on conditions.

There is a product called 'Bio Spira' that is a bottled bacteria (it has to be kept refrigerated from manufacturer to LFS and if your LFS doesn't keep it cold don't buy it) that can help speed things along but isn't necessary.

There is also a 'fishless cycle' which some of us prefer.

waste control is an organic waste eliminator that contains bacteria that speeds up breaking down fish waste
my filter is an emperor 400 with a bio wheel
what is this fishless cycle

I'll tell you what a 'fishless cycle' is if you'll reference the 'organic waste eliminator'. :D

Fishless cycle is using liquid ammonia to feed the system instead of fish to provide it. It's more exacting and can be used to bring a filter up for use with a large bio-load unlike using fish.

Dr. Joe im surprised you have never encountered "waste control" its one of the three most commonly suggested additives at any large chain fish store (you can even but it in three packs with cycle and aqua plus at pet smart)
i have no idea if it actualy does anything though
