ok....so today i got my hands on my first "monster" tank my 55 gallon(dont laugh):naughty: its an "upgrade from my 29(first tank) so im starting to think about how im going to to go about this. preety much i just want to start using my tank asap...i cant wait much longer ive painted the whole back of the tank already and got it cleaned out preety good....ok so here comes my question......if im puttin all the already cycled water from my 29 that ive been using for atleast month and a half now....can i just add the rest and be ok in putting my fish soon after since im going to put my two filters(h.o.b's) one of 70 gallon and the other is a bio-wheel 50 gallon(maybe two bio-wheels) that has been in use already with all the BB????

please let me know i already prob know the answer but its one of those hlep guys PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Ty for your time:popcorn:

Haha use a hit or miss system, try it and see if it's dead in the morning. Na jk. But wouldn't it be similar to doing a 50% water change? I'm sure if you just added some dechlor and stuff it'd be fine, but don't take my word for it.

Are you using the same substrate from your previous tank, or new? How long have you run the biowheels in the new tank? It's not the water that holds the beneficial bacteria, it's the items in you tank or filtering your tank that have surface area. After a month an a half, depending on your bioload of the 29 gallon, you may not have enough of what you need for the new tank. If you're in a hurry, do a fishless cycle. Easy and guaranteed!

Just like daveydoodle said. It's the items in your other tank which hold the bb. I don't think the water and your filters will have enought to make the new tank ready right away but it will help. If you want to speed things up even more transfer some of your substrate and decorations. Wait a day or two and then throw a couple goldfish or something else hardy in there. Just be sure to keep an eye on your water perameteres and be patient.

If you are transferring your current filters and such and are keeping the same stocking levels, you can just swap everything right over. No need to cycle. Just make sure any new water is treated before adding anything else.
