So, yesterday I was feeding my P's an I knoticed my tank had a small leak. I only had the tank for a month or so. I called up petsmart were I bought the tank an I returned it for store credit. They didnt have the bowfront that I have had. So I got a 40 breeder. I put the gravel and 25 percent old water in there. Is this gonna make my tank have to cycle again? It was running over night but I put my P's in a 10 gal. feeder tank. They slaughtered 6 of the feeders over night. Think its safe to put them in the new tank?

if ur using the same filter with the same media as the old tank, then ur ok. adding the old water does nothing, since it contains only nitrates and fish hormones.
yeah been doing that. Some of my fishes got made lunch by the bigger ones. The ones left seem to be fine and getting along. I guess they just didnt like the 2 fish I got from another lfs. After they were feasting on eacho ther my tank smells a bit. NO'2 and No'3 looks good execpt but my alkalinity is high an my ph is around 7.8. Any advice?
