Cycled tank?

Can i take 50/ of water from one of my 55gal tanks and put into my new tank then take one of my Cycled tank filters put it in my new filter the fill in the rest of the with treated water then see if that cuts my cycling time in half.

Just add the filter media, not much bacteria in the water. If you add filter media, then your pretty much ready for fish if you stock slowly
