Belive I'm correct, would just like confirmation lol

44 ml of ammonia should = 5 ppm in a 220 gallon tank.

44ml = 1.5 ounce

Shot Glass = 1.5 ounce

So filling a shot glass should do me fine? or am I missing something and I continue with drop at a time method lol

Sounds about right. It took 2 oz. or 4 Tablespoons to get to 5ppm in my 240.
I think I would still creep up on it with 3 tablespoons initially, let it circulate for one pump cycle(depends on turnover rate) and test before adding more. I would be more inclined to use a measuring spoon than a shot glass unless you're measuring Makers Mark.

It depends on the concentration of your ammoina...

For example, Ace Hardware's store brand labeled 'Janitorial Strength' is 10% ammonia 90% water... This is what I have experience using...

Using this product I get 2~3 ppm per 10 gal of tank volume for every ML added...

200 gallons = 757,082 ml... or 750,000 for easy math...

so 3/4 of a ml (pure ammoina) would be "one part per million" in 3/4 of a million ml...

Since the ammonia under discussion is 10% pure...

7.5 ml (Ace brand ammonia) would be "one part per million" in your 750,000 ml tank...

7.5 ml x 5 = 37.5 ml for 5 ppm in your 200 gal / 750,000 ml tank...

So if your using approx 7% ammonia, then 44 ml sounds right...

Despite what any articles say, I see absolutely no benefit in having more than a 3 ppm ammonia at any point in a fishless cycle... unless at the very end you want to build up enough bacteria to process more than 3 ppm a day...

Sadly once cycle would be done alot of the bacteria will go to waste anyways... the fish that are finding a home there in no way will produce enough. The largest Clown Loach is 6" and the Dats are still tiny lil things

Better safe than sorry.
