Does it take long for the ammonia levels to go down and the nitrite levels to go up?
I've been testing my water with the API testing kit and i managed to get to 4PPM of ammonia, but it does not appear to be going down at all and nitrite levels don't seem to be going up. Is it because this is a brand new tank and has no beneficial bacteria?

I have the tank set to 85 degrees and i turned on a bubbler ( i read that this will speed up the process )

this is getting pretty frustrating looking at a tank that is empty

is there anything else i can do?

Place one of those in your tanks until its fully cycled :)

It takes about three weeks for ammonia to start going down and nitrite to start going up (when you don't seed in any way).
