i set up a 55 gallon tank its got a regent filter and a marineland on it....both rated at 50 or more so it should have enough filtration and a bubble wand it it...for areation .....put a rock and a filter pad from a established tank to try to help kick start it...put 2 feeders in it one died outher is ok swimmin around...i did a ammonia test and it was off the roof...i dunno how two lil feeders can cause the ammonia to spike that high.....it was up around like 4-5 ppm i did a 50% w/c and im gonna do it again tomorrow any suggestions?

It could have been from the filter pad and rock but it still doesn't make much sense. Go to a LFS and get some NH3 nutralizer to help.
