ok so i had a 29 gallon tank.. i know purchased a 60 gallon ...i took the gravel (about 30 pounds) lava rock (5 large rocks) plants (2 fakeplants) and 10 gallons of water from my already cycled 29 gallon andthrew it into my 60 gallon ...i also added 30 more pound of new gravel .... i added 20 feeder guppies so i can start cycling it... so now my question is how long do you guys think its gonna take and are the guppies good fish to start cycling (because now i thing i need bigger fish ) orshould i get some goldfish med size ????

It shouldn't take long at all. If you want it to go quicker, just take your media out of your old filter and put it into the new filter.

Guppies will work, but most of them will probably die.

yeah i the guppies i dont really care about even if they survive they are gonna be eaten by my cichlids lol

Old tank water would have worked quicker, not really an option now the guppies are in

i can always use them ass feeders

I agree. Use the old filter media along with the new filter and media and it should cycle with in a week if your lucky. I did the same thing when I went from a 20 gallon to a 55 gallon. The only difference was that i put my new filter onto the twenty gallon at a lower flow rate for about a week, then transferred both filters over to the new aquarium. After about a week I got rid of the old filter. Worked great. No ammonia or nitrites.

SO LIKE A WEEK

A week or a month. Test your water or have your LFS test it. Sometimes it takes a while even with seeded material. Your test kit will tell you when its cycled :)

so what are my results supposed to be to know that my tank in completely cycled ???

Ammonia 0
NitrIte 0
NitrAte 40 or under

It should take like a week. Just try and test it to be sure. If you add old media to the new filters it will speed up more and be more stable.
