I'm planning on doing a fishless cycle on my tank. I'm just wondering is it a good idea to remove the charcoal filter cartridges from my filter and just leave the bio wheels going in order to avoid the charcoal filtering out any beneficial chemicals that I'm trying to build lots of during the cycling? Or is that not an issue at all because of what the charcoal actually is filtering?

All I ever use charcoal for is to remove residual meds...
