so.. anyways i bought a new test kit for my new tank today been "cycling" for a week, been taking water that i got from my other tank for cleaning it and putting it into the tank as well as squeezing out the sponge outta my other tank into the new one... good enough to cycle the tank properly my nitrates haven't started to rise yet... and ammonia and nitrite are 0... so im thinking what im doing atm isn't good enough OR nothing has happened yet... gonna start checking the water everyday now.... oh btw its an 180g tank (which apparently should take like a month or so) and the filter i got runnin on it atm is a eheim 2080. should i bother adding something similar to bio spira to the tank or just keep on keepin on?

You'll need to feed the filters, feed the tank as if there were fish in there, or leave a small dead fish or peice of shrimp in there to rot and act as an ammonia source.

Or a fishless cycle and feed with pure ammonia (less messy).
