Ok.. so it's been a few years since I cycled a tank so forgive my question. But from what I recall you get ammonia, then you get nitrite then you get nitrate. Well the 120 I'm cycling has the following:
Amonia: ~.25 - .50
Nitrite: 0
Nitrate: ~ 25 - 50
I'm using Tetratest kits to get these numbers. I haven't tested my water supply in a while so I will in just a couple minutes but the thing is it's been cycling for a little over two weeks however I used 50 gallons of water and a HOB filter from another tank. Seems like I would be further along. The only thing I can guess is that the Amonia is slowly starting to drop before the Nitrites start up and the Nitrates are maybe from the tap water?? That seems very high for tap water. Any ideas? I'm gonna eat something and test the tap water in the mean time.
