So I just got a 10 gallon and have a couple questions about cycling it. I currently have two tanks running, a 90 and 55 gallon, and both are completely cycled and disease-free. I want to cycle it as fast as possible so I was thinking about letting the new filter run in either the 90 or 55 gallon for a week or so then moving it over to the 10 gallon with water and some gravel from the other tanks. Would this be the fastest way to cycle the tank or should I do something else?

Ya I was also thinking about doing that. I was thinking of the sponge from my ac 110 and some bio-material from my xp3. Thanks for the reply.

I've always read/heard that you should still let your tank run 'empty' for at least 3 days before putting fish in it, even when you use established filter media.

I never can afford new/more fish for a week or so after setting up a new tank, so it works out well for me.
