Cycling Question

Just took a aggressive fish back to a lfs and the owner told me that I had to cycle my tank for 2 weeks before I can add any other fish. I want to know if he was correct seems a little weird to me. Anyone tell me if he was just bsing me?

If your tank is already cycled then you shouldn't have to do so again, unless you totally emptied it and let all the filter media dry out.

I definitely didn't do that haha but I think the guy just was trying to rush me out of the store kinda annoyed by that though. Think I might find a new place to do business with. Thanks for info.
