what are the effects of cycling a tank with a fish? i need to get my 125 gal cycled, but im not sure if i can speed up the process. the gravel is the same gravel as when it was drained, not touched or cleaned, and the filters have been cycled before, i have the tank cycling right now, but the fish im going to put in it are to big for there current tank! so i kinda want to get them moved ASAP!!

i ran some test's after some quick chemicals to the tank and the params are, ammonia 0, nitrate 0, nitrite .15, and ph 7.9

You can always get some live bacteria. I have used it on my tanks and had no problems with adding fish right away....I do let the tank run for a day before adding the bacteria and fish.

well like i said, one of my tanks is running with the old media in it, and i replaced the other with new media, and the gravel hasn't been washed, it was removed from the tank and placed in a plastic bag straight back into the tank after i set it up. i did some more test a couple hours later after adding ph down, working on one thing at a time, but the ph has dropped to 7.4-7.5. the stock isn't going to be to great. 1 payara scomb, 1 red tiger oscar, 1 geophagus, and 3 medium sized cats. the cats are at full size.
